The proposed action will repair a slump in the 27-4-14.0 road which has occurred due to inadequate fill and drainage. The 14.0 road is owned and maintained by the BLM but is located on private land with a 40 foot wide right-of-way easement. The project will occur during the dry season, generally between June 15 and September 15, and will excavate an area approximately 200 feet in length by 12 feet in width, 8 feet below the existing road grade to remove unsuitable material and then reconstruct the drainage system and fill. Waste material will be disposed of in a road turnout on BLM lands in Section 13, T27S, R04E along the 27-4-13.0. A temporary bypass road will be constructed in the 40 foot easement to allow access during construction.
