The Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) on behalf of the State of Oregon Department of Forestry is requesting a Federal Land Policy and Management Act (FLPMA) Communication Site Lease to install, operate, maintain, and terminate a communication facility on Yellow Butte Communication site. DFPA is proposing to install an Automated Smoke Detection System and Automated Vehicle Locator System. The automated systems include the installation of: one -- 80-foot steel lattice self-supporting tower on a concrete foundation; one - buried lightning grounding system; one-array of three solar panels; one -- equipment locker; and one - 400 watt wind turbine and generator. The authorization would be granted for a twenty-five (25) year term.
