An Interdisciplinary (ID) Team of the Swiftwater Field Office, Roseburg District, Bureau of Land Management has analyzed the proposed Swiftwater Stream Crossing Upgrade Project. This analysis and the "Finding of No Significant Impact" (FONSI) were documented in Environmental Assessment (EA) No. OR-104-04-04. The EA analyzes the replacement of stream crossing culverts at six sites within the Swiftwater Resource Area, located in the Elk Creek, Middle North Umpqua and Upper Calapooya fifth-field watersheds in Section 17, T.21S., R.4W.; Sections 15 and 27, T.22S., R.4W.; Section 3, T.25S., R.4W.; and Section 17, T.26S., R.2W.; W.M.

Environmental Assessment OR-104-04-04 Project Under Implementation
The purpose of the action described in this EA is to upgrade or replace stream crossings in order to reduce potential sedimentation, improve fish passage and open additional stream habitat to salmonids, and remove a risk to public safety. This EA analyzes projects for contract award in fiscal year 2004 through 2005.

Environmental Assessment OR-104-00-10 Project Under Implementation
The Swiftwater Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposes to upgrade or replace 14 stream crossings in the Canton Creek, Upper Umpqua and Rock Creek fifth-field watersheds (see maps, Appendix A and B). Section II (pg. 3) of this EA provides a more detailed description of the Proposed Action Alternative.
