| Summary: The Swiftwater Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) proposes to harvest timber in the Calapooya, Lower North Umpqua, and Elk Creek Watersheds. The Boyd Howdy Timber Sale is located in Section 7, T.24S., R.3W.; Sections 1,11,13, and 15, T.24S., R.4W.; and the Copeland Divide Timber Sale in Sections 19,29, & 32, T.25S., R.3W.; W.M. (see maps, Appendix A through C). Approximately 1250 acres are analyzed for potential thinning activities and density management within the Riparian Reserve. New road construction, renovation and improvement of existing roads and approaches to two heliponds would also occur. Section II (pg. 4) of this EA provides a more detailed description of the Proposed Action Alternative. | |
