Summary: This is an instream restoration project to be conducted by the BLM in partnership with the Partnership for the Umpqua Rivers and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, funded in part by Title II monies as provided for by the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act. The project will install approximately 40 boulders and 70 logs in a reach of Days Creek located in Section 33, T. 29 S., R. 3 W., Willamette Meridian, and will block a low-water ford on BLM Road No. 29-3-33.0. The purpose of the project is to create rearing habitat for juvenile Oregon Coast coho salmon, Oregon Coast steelhead trout and resident cutthroat trout, and to eliminate stream bank and stream channel disturbance at the low-water ford that is resulting in sedimentation of Days Creek. The environmental effects of the project are consistent with those described for similar actions in the Roseburg District Aquatic Restoration Environmental Assessment (#OR-103-08-09)
