| Summary: It is the South River Field Manager's decision to authorize placement of trees and logs in portions of Weaver Creek to create instream and enhance habitat structure and complexity. Instream structures will be placed in the stream channel at 16 locations. These structures will be composed of 40-55 foot-long logs, provided by the felling of approximately 25 trees. Logs will be positioned either by felling the trees directly into the stream, or by felling and winching logs or entire trees into place. The project area consists of a one-quarter mile reach in Section 9, T. 29 S., R. 3 W. and a onemile reach in Section 32, T. 28 S., R. 3 W. The project is funded under Title II of the "Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000." | |
