Summary: The White Castle Variable Retention Harvest (White Castle VRH) timber sale represents the second of two sales analyzed in the Roseburg Secretarial Demonstration Pilot Project environmental assessment (EA). It is my decision to authorize the White Castle VRH timber sale, conducting variable retention harvest of 187 acres in the General Forest Management Area and Adaptive Management Area, in Sections 31, 32 and 33, T. 28 S., R. 2 W.; Sections 23, 25 and 26, T. 28 S., R. 3 W.; and Section 4, T. 29 S., R. 2 W., Willamette Meridian. The project will be implemented as described in Alternative Two, Sub-Alternative B in the EA (pp. 22-24).
