| Summary: It is the decision of the Swiftwater Field Manager to authorize five stream restoration projects including the acquisition of instream wood, the placement of large wood or boulders, and the planting of native shrubs and trees within the boundaries of the Swiftwater Field Office, consistent with restoration projects proposed and analyzed in the Roseburg District Aquatic Restoration Environmental Assessment (EA) #OR-103-08-09. The Elk Creek and Zuiches Creek projects are funded by Title II funding under the Secure Rural Schools Act and implemented by the Elk Creek Watershed Council (ECWC), a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) partner. The ECWC will be responsible for project design, contract preparation, contract award, and construction of the large wood and boulder projects in Elk and Zuiches Creeks. The South Fork Smith River, Rock Creek, and Brush Creek projects will be implemented by the BLM. Project locations and details are listed in Table 1.
