| Summary: Red Butte Commercial Thinning will occur on seven units (approximately 182 acres) of second-growth forest approximately 35-56 years old located in the Little River Fifth-field Watershed in Sections 17, 20, 21, 28, 29 and 30 of T. 27 S., R. 2 W. Willamette Meridian (Figure 1). In addition, approximately two acres will be removed for the development of spur roads and rights-of-ways. Red Butte Commercial Thinning will provide approximately 2.248 million board feet (2.248 MMBF) of timber available for auction. The Project Design Features that will be implemented as part of Red Butte Commercial Thinning are described on pages 9-23 of the Little River MMX Thinning EA. These project design features have been developed into contract stipulations and will be implemented as part of the timber sale contract. | |
