Summary: On April 26, 2011, the Swiftwater Field Office, Roseburg District BLM reoffered and re-advertised the Saddle Up To Paradise Commercial Thinning and Density Management project for sale at auction. The Saddle Up To Paradise project was not purchased at auction and was also not purchased during the 90 days it was for sale following the auction. A depressed timber market in summer 2011 contributed to the Saddle Up To Paradise project not being purchased. Consequently, the Saddle Up To Paradise Commercial Thinning and Density Management project has been re-appraised under current market conditions and will be reoffered and re-advertised a second time.

Summary: It is my decision to reoffer the Saddle Up To Paradise Commercial Thinning and Density Management project and complete implementation of the Proposed Action Alternative described in Chapter 2 (pgs. 6-9) of the Saddle Up To Paradise Commercial Thinning and Density Management EA. This will include implementation of Project Design Features (EA, pgs. 9-15) that are a part of the Action Alternative. These Project Design Features have been incorporated into contract stipulations and will be implemented as part of the timber sale contract; all Project Design Features which were incorporated into the contract stipulations for the original decision will remain in effect.
