| Summary: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Swiftwater Field Office proposes commercial thinning of approximately 953 acres of mid-seral forest stands, 38-50 years old, in three separate proposed timber sales: Corvid (291 acres), Craven Raven (341 acres), and Old Crow (321 acres). In addition, up to approximately five acres per timber sale would be cleared or brushed for spur right-of-ways or roads to access the harvest areas. These proposed sales are located in the Rock Creek and Lower North Umpqua River Watersheds. It is anticipated that the proposed timber sales would yield approximately 9.5 million board feet (9.5 MMBF) of timber in support of local and regional manufacturers and economies. | |
