Summary: Prescribe bum 286 acres of BLM land that was mechanically treated in the early and mid 1990' s. The prescribed burn will involve the ignition of individual young juniper trees and contain the spread to the targeted juniper. The burning will take place between November 1 st and January 31 st when the fuel moistures are high enough that the bum will not spread beyond the junipers being ignited. The objective is to bum 90-100% of junipers less than 6 feet tall within the boundaries of the past mechanical treatments.
