Description:
This dataset contains mining claims within the geographic area depicted by the plan boundary in the John Day Resource Management Plan. It was derived from the National Integrated Land System (NILS) where each mining claim is represented by its land description as defined in the BLM's Land and Mineral Records System (LR2000) and is mapped to the quarter or quarter-quarter section. Each mining claim may be located within up to five quarter sections, with a maximum area dependent on the mining claim commodity.Purpose:
The intended use of this dataset is for analysis where recorded mining claims are important in the John Day Resource Management Plan.File Type:
