Description:
This spatial dataset contains synthesized protection and restoration priority values based on combined focal species habitat condition by fifth-field hydrologic unit (HUC5) in the John Day Subbasin. Focal species include summer steelhead, spring chinook, and bull trout. Although the data was captured at the fifth-field hydrologic unit level, the map extent is within the geographic area depicted by the John Day Basin third-field hydrologic unit boundary (HUC). The priority information results from the Ecosystem Diagnosis and Treatment (EDT) and the Qualitative Habitat Anaysis (QHA) models as well as local input from the John Day Technical Team as part of the 2002-2004 Columbia River Basin (CRB) subbasin planning project mandated by the Northwest Planning and Conservation Council (NPCC).Purpose:
The intended use of this dataset was for analysis in the John Day Resource Management Plan. This spatial dataset was developed by the Technical Outreach and Assistance to Subbasins Team (TOAST) to create maps to depict synthesized priority habitat for foFile Type:
