Description:

This dataset shows major rivers within the geographic area depicted by the aquatic boundary in the John Day Resource Management Plan. The Major Rivers coverage consists of linear hydrographic feature centerlines. Where these features are represented as double lined features at the source scale, they are represented in this layer by their centerline. Rivers that flow through water bodies such as lakes and reservoirs are also represented by a centerline. The original dataset was a subset of the HYDRO themes. The HYDRO themes contained the hydrographic information for the John Day Basin. This included data originally derived from other sources such as DRGs from the USGS.

Purpose:

The intended use of this dataset was for cartographic purposes to create maps where aquatic resources were important in the John Day Resource Management Plan analysis. The original source dataset was created to support the BLM Resource Management Plans p
