Description:  

This theme portrays information related to the Public Land Survey System, and subsurface minerals of lands in the John Day Resource Management Plan area. Subsurface rights are landowner's rights to the water and other substances below the surface of land. These rights may be sold or transferred to another party like other land rights. See also air rights, mineral rights, and surface rights.

Purpose:  

This dataset is intended for land use planning, watershed analysis, and project planning in the John Day Resource Management Plan.
