Cline Buttes Recreation Area FAQs

Below are the frequently asked questions related to the Cline Buttes Recreation Area Plan Environmental Assessment (EA).

Question: What is the seasonal closure for and what are the closure periods?

Trails seasonally closed in the areas north of Highway 126, the Deschutes River Canyon, and in Deep and Dry Canyons are closed for eagles. The trail seasonally closed in Fryrear Canyon is closed for prairie falcons. Prairie falcons also nest in the Deschutes River Canyon; however, the eagle nesting season fully encompasses the prairie falcon's.
