This is a fuels reduction project involving the handcutting and piling of non-commerical sized vegetation. Handpiles will be burned when fuel moisture and weather conditions allow for the safe burning of piled material. Follow-up maintenance burning will occur as needed to further reduce fire hazard in proposed treatment units. The public review and comment period for this project ends May 5, 2009. All comments must be received by the BLM by 4:30 on the last day of the public comment period.
