The Ashland Field Manager has decided to authorize the implementation of fuels reduction on about 1,285 acres of BLM land analyzed under Alternative 2 of the Ashland Fuels EA. Fuels reduction treatments involve thinning and handpiling trees (7 inches diameter and smaller) and shrubs to reduce hazardous fuels and the risk of large scale stand replacing wildfire in the wildland urban interface.

This decision record documents the Ashland Field Manager's decision to authorize the implementation of fuels reduction on about 649 acres of BLM-administered land in the Tyler Creek and Antelope Creek drainages. This fuels reduction work was analyzed under Alternative 2 of the Ashland Fuels Reduction EA. Fuels reduction treatments involve thinning and handpiling trees (7 inches diameter and smaller) and shrubs to reduce hazardous fuels and the risk of large scale stand replacing wildfire. This decision record also documents direction specific to the Tyler Creek unit that resulted from discussions with the Tyler Creek neighborhood (adjacent and nearby landowners).
