This decision authorizes implementation of dry forest management, small diameter thinning, hardwood management, road work, dispersed campsite and OHV trail rehabilitation, and water source restoration.

Summary: The BLM is beginning scoping for the Evans Creek Forest Management Project Environmental Assessment. The project is located north of the cities of Rogue River and Gold Hill, Oregon in the Evans Creek and Rogue Sardine 5th field watersheds. The BLM is considering timber harvest on 3,420 acres, hazardous fuels reduction on 6,100 acres, stand improvement on 1,000 acres, and riparian habitat and stream restoration on 12 miles of stream. The Evans Creek Forest Management Project incorporates the previously proposed Slick Sand, Pleasant Fry, and Musty Sardines forest management projects. The scoping period begins October 15 and ends November 2, 2007.
