| Summary: The selection of Alternative 1 will implement 3,235 acres of hazardous fuel reduction, 326 acres of non-commercial density management, and 28 acres of pre-commercial thin to thin overstocked forest stands, enhance & promote late successional forest characteristics, and to reduce to the risk of catastrophic stand replacement wildfire in the Fish Hook/Galice Late-Successional Reserve. In addition, four small ponds or wetlands will be improved to create better conditions for wildlife. The activities in this decision were analyzed in the Kelsey Whisky Creek Landscape Management Plan, Proposed Medford Resource Management Plan Amendments and Final Environmental Impact Statement. | |
