Summary: The selection of Alternative 1 will implement 512 acres of commercial harvest through a combination of regeneration harvest/overstory removal, commercial thin & commercial density management, followed by activity fuel treatments. In addition, 1.2 miles of temporary road construction is authorized for forest management access. The Upper East Kelsey Timber Sale is located in Township (T) 32S-Range (R) 8W-Section 1; T32S-R9W-Section 35; T33S-R8W-Section 5, 6, 7, 8, 18; T33S-R9W-Section 1, 11, 12, 13 of the Matrix land allocation. The activities in this decision were analyzed in the Kelsey Whisky Creek Landscape Management Plan, Proposed Medford Resource Management Plan Amendments and Final Environmental Impact Statement. The timber sale was sold on November 16, 2006.
