Summary: The Butte Falls Resource Area is resuming the environmental analysis process for the Evans Creek Forest Management Project. The original project analysis began in 2007 but was temporarily delayed. The BLM is proposing to harvest timber harvest on about 4,000 acres,vegetation management (hazardous fuels reduction and stand improvement) on about 2,000 acres, and riparian habitat and stream restoration. The BLM is proposing regeneration harvest, selection harvest, commercial thinning, and density management. Timber would be removed using tractor, cable, or helicopter yarding.
