| Summary: The Cathedral Hills Hazardous Fuels Reduction and Recreation Management Environmental Assessment (EA# DOI-BLM-OR117-05-11) analyzed for relocation of 4.8 miles of trail for resource protection, decommissioning of the old trials, and rehabilitation of 4 miles of trails. After further field review BLM identified additional trail segments that need to also be relocated to further protect the natural resources and provide a safe recreational experience for trail users. There are 6 trail segments which need to be re-routed. These 6 segments total approximately 1 additional mile of trail relocation, which in addition equates to the same amount of trail being decommissioned and returned to its natural conditions. Anticipated effects of the Cathedral Hills Park project is similar to the proposed actions analyzed in the existing EA and the effects would not exceed the direct, indirect, and cumulative effects as disclosed in the EA (EA pp. 8-20) | |
