Upcoming Pilot Project Events

In December 2010, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar set in motion a plan to apply the principles of ecological restoration, as suggested by Drs. Norm Johnson and Jerry Franklin, on BLM lands within the Coos Bay, Roseburg and Medford Districts. The BLM, along with Drs. Norm Johnson and Jerry Franklin, will be holding a series of meetings, workshops, and field trips to discuss the pilot projects and learn more about the principles of ecological forestry as applied by Drs. Johnson and Franklin. The public is encouraged to attend these meetings.

Pilot Thompson Field Trip with Drs. Franklin and Johnson

Date: Thursday, May 23, 2013
Time: 9:00 a.m. to as long as we need (please plan for all day)
Location: Meet at the Applegate Store Parking Lot, 15095 Highway 238, Applegate OR 97530
Details: We will visit several of the Pilot Thompson units, including 19-4 and 20-1. Bring a lunch or snacks and your own beverages. The field trip will involve rigorous hiking on uneven terrain. Please wear the appropriate footwear and bring plenty of water.
