The Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 (P.L. 106-393) provides for federal funds to flow to counties that traditionally have been supported by timber payments. Below you will find information about the bill. Resource Advisory Committees will make recommendations on how a portion of this money is used on watershed-enhancement projects which benefit public land and resources.
The Coos Bay District Resource Advisory Committee will meet on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Coos Bay District Office from 9 am to 4 pm. The public is welcome to attend all portions of the meeting and address the Committee during the public comment period at 11 am.
The Coos Bay District Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) met on September 20, 2012 to review project proposals and recommend projects for funding under Title II of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act. Mark Johnson, Coos Bay District Manager and the RAC's Designated Federal Official, approved the RAC's recommendations on September 28, 2012.
