| Summary: The purpose of the Action is to: 1) Manage livestock grazing within Cottonwood Creek Allotment to continue to achieve Rangeland Health S&Gs currently being achieved, and make significant progress1 toward achieving the Riparian, Water Quality, and Locally Important Species Standards not achieved within Cottonwood-Palmer Pasture and along Cottonwood Creek and conform to Guidelines, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies. 2) Reduce encroaching conifers, especially western juniper, within the allotment and along riparian areas, in order to make significant progress toward achieving Standard 2 (Watershed Function -- Riparian/Wetland Areas) and Standard 4 (Water Quality) and restore the riparian community, as well as to continue to meet all other Standards. 3) Consider an external request to renew a 10-year grazing permit. | |
