| Summary: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is proposing to gather approximately 361 and remove approximately 265 excess wild horses from within and outside the Warm Springs Herd Management Area (HMA) beginning about November 2010. The purpose of the action is to return the wild horse population to within the established AML within Warm Springs HMA, protect rangeland resources from deterioration associated with the current overpopulation, maintain a thriving natural ecological balance and multiple-use relationship on public lands in the area consistent with the provisions of 1333(b)(2)(iv) of the WFRHBA and to maintain Rangeland Health Standards. | |
