ARRA Project (WBS)#: LDTDF0630000
Project Title: Yaquina Head Exhibit and Trail Replacement Project
Index Map Locator #: 49
State: Oregon
Unit: BLM - Salem District
Description:
This project will replace the asphalt walkways throughout the park with concrete walkways. Vegetation growing under the walkways has pushed the asphalt up, creating extremely uneven walkways. Years of patching and compacting has added to the uneven walkways
Interpretive wayside exhibits constructed of iron and porcelain are rusting from the salty maritime climate. In addition, the porcelain graphics on exhibits have cracked and faded. This project will design and construct new exhibits of non-corrosive and non-fading materials. New exhibits will meet the current BLM graphics standards.
Recovery Act Funding:
Work will begin immediately after the contract has been awarded.
Benefits:
This project will improve public safety and facilitate visitor understanding and appreciation of park resources.
