Index Map Locator #: 6
State: Oregon
Unit: BLM - Eugene District
Description:
Several Eugene District recreation and administrative facilities (Shotgun Recreation Site, Tyrrell Seed Orchard, White’s Creek Maintenance Shop, Walton Maintenance Site, Triangle Lake Maintenance Site, and Shotgun Maintenance Site) are in need of upgrading. Projects include installing heating and cooling systems, building roof replacements, replacing security fencing, installing a new potable water well at the Tyrrell Seed Orchard, and conducting an analysis and upgrade of the White’s Creek potable water system. The health and safety of employees and visitors as well as security of facility investments need to be improved on all of these sites.
Recovery Act Funding:
These funds will be used to complete the upgrade and replacement of administrative facilities.
Benefits:
Upgrading these facilities will provide more energy efficient operations and lower maintenance costs. It will also ensure employee and visitor health and safety. Better security will be provided to protect facilities where considerable investments have been made. Potable water projects will ensure legal requirements for public health and safety are met.
