Description:

This project is to upgrade the security systems at both the Salem District office in Salem and the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area in Newport.

The Salem office security system will consist of installing entry key pads, fire monitoring alerts, cameras, and recording systems. The Yaquina security system will consist of installing a system of cameras, alarms (fire, intrusion, and panic), card locks, and cash register security monitors.

Recovery Act Funding:

Installation of the new security systems will begin after contracts for security systems and video surveillance are awarded.

Benefits:

The new security systems will improve safe access for employee and visitors, protect archeological and historic museum collections, deter vandalism, and allow law enforcement staff to have better tools to monitor, enforce, and investigate activities.
