Project Title: Roseburg Comfort Station Replacement

Description:
Five existing recreation site toilets are worn and not as cost effective or environmenatlly safe as concrete vault toilets.
The project will replace the toilets (comfort stations) at 5 high-use recreation sites outside of Roseburg in Douglas County. The sites include: Millpond Campground, Swiftwater Day-use Area, Swiftwater Trailhead, Wolf Creek Falls Trailhead, and Susan Creek Day-use Area.
Recovery Act Funding:
A contract was awarded and work began in the fall of 2009. Currently work is shut down due to winter weather and is scheduled to resume in the spring of 2010. In addition to purchasing prefabricated toilet structures, sub-contractors have been used to to dig septic holes, crane-lift the vault toilets into place, and landscape the sites.

This project will provide visitors with a more pleasant recreational site experience.
