ARRA Project (WBS)#: LDDFR0460000
Project Title: Hyatt Recreation Septic System Repair
Index Map Locator #: 24
State: Oregon
Unit: BLM - Medford District
Description:
The current sewage treatment system operates under a wastewater discharge permit, requires a certified wastewater operator on staff, is costly to operate and maintain, and requires year-round monthly reporting to the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality even when the system is not operating. This project will replace the current system with a septic system that will not require a wastewater discharge permit. The new system will eliminate the monitoring and reporting requirements and the need for a certified operator. Additionally, the new system will require little to no annual maintenance.
Recovery Act Funding:
The funds will be used to improve the water system at Hyatt Lake Campground.
Benefits:
The Medford District will improve the sewer system used by the campers at the Hyatt Lake Campground. The campground is part of the Hyatt Lake Recreation Area, which consists of developed and primitive campgrounds with RV sites, tent sites, two boat ramps, a group shelter, fish cleaning station, restrooms and showers, and a group kitchen.
