ARRA Project (WBS)#: LACAP0270000
Project Title: Salem Office Photovoltaic System Retrofit
Index Map Locator #: 41
State: Oregon
Unit: BLM - Salem District
Description:
This project will install a photovoltaic cell system on the 29 year old building's roof. This 200 KW system will reduce the amount of grid power being used, with the left-over energy generated by the system being sold back to the utility company. Additionally, the 15-year-old office roof will be replaced to maintain system integrity for the initial 20+ years of service life of the photovoltaic system.
Recovery Act Funding:
Work will be completed with a construction contract using a request for proposal and evaluation for technical scope and performance.
Benefits:
When completed this will be the largest photovoltaic system in the BLM, and showcase the agency's commitment to renewable energy. This project will also be visible from one of South Salem's main transportation routes.
