Pedestrian Bridge Ribbon Cutting
By Karla Norris
On January 12, Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA) staff joined Las Vegas Ward 3 Councilman Bob Coffin for a ribbon cutting and formal grand opening of the pedestrian bridge over Lamb Boulevard near Washington Avenue. This project helps connect segments of the 18-mile Las Vegas Wash Trail. This trail traverses the Las Vegas Wash in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Clark County. The project is part of a valley-wide commitment to improve walking trails and pedestrian safety for its residents.
The Secretary of the Interior approved $9,850,000 for this project as well as several other bridges and trail segments along the Las Vegas Wash.
During the ribbon cutting, SNPLMA staff observed local residents already using the trail for hiking and biking.
