Clark, Lincoln, and White Pine Counties Groundwater Development Project EIS Schedule

Scoping

Public scoping for the Clark, Lincoln, and White Pine Counties Groundwater Development Project occurred April 8-August 1, 2005 and July 19-October 18, 2006.  The Final Summary Scoping Report was prepared and made available to the public in January 2007 and was updated in February 2007.

Draft EIS

The Bureau of Land Management began preliminary work on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in 2004.  Results from public scoping allowed the BLM to refine the issues and determine the next steps.  These steps include identifying the issues to be analyzed in the EIS, addressing data gaps, collecting data, formulating alternatives, and preparing the analysis.  The Draft EIS was made available for public review on June 10, 2011. Public meeting dates and locations are shown below:

Final EIS

The Final EIS will be prepared after all public comments on the Draft EIS have been received.  The Groundwater Projects Office does not currently have a projected date for availability of the Final EIS; this website will be updated when a projected date becomes available.  The Bureau of Land Management, in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, will publish the Notice of Availability for the Final EIS in the Federal Register and local media.

Record of Decision

The Record of Decision will be signed no earlier than 30 days after the Final EIS is made available to the public, in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act.
