Public Land Sales in Nevada

The BLM does not offer much land for sale because of a congressional mandate in 1976 to generally retain these lands in public ownership. The BLM does, however, occasionally sell parcels of land where our land use planning finds disposal is appropriate.  The BLM Nevada also offers public land sales under the authorities of various special legislation lands acts passed by the U.S. Congress.

Land sales in Nevada are governed by various legislation as described below:

Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (P.L. 105-263)
The Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA) provides for the orderly disposal of certain Federal Lands in Clark County, Nevada, and for the acquisition of environmentally sensitive lands in the state of Nevada. The lands identified for disposal are primarily within the Las Vegas Valley.

Lincoln County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act (P.L. 108-424)
The Lincoln County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act (LCCRDA) provides for the disposal of up to 90,000 acres of public land in Lincoln County, Nevada. Lands for disposal are identified through the Ely Resource Management Plan.

White Pine County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act (P.L. 109-432)
The White Pine County Conservation, Recreation, and Development Act (WPCCRDA) provides for the disposal of up to 45,000 acres of public land in White Pine County, Nevada. Lands for disposal are identified through the Ely Resource Management Plan.

The Lincoln County Land Act (LCLA) provides for the disposal of public land within Lincoln County. Lands identified for disposal through this Act have disposed of; there are no further land sales that will occur under the authority of this Act.
