BLM signs Kinsley Exploration Decision Record

ELKO, Nev. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Elko District Office has issued a Decision Record on an Environmental Assessment for Pilot Gold’s (USA) Inc. (Pilot Gold) Plan of Operations for Kinsley Mine.

This project is located on public lands in and around the Kinsley Mountain Range, about 87 miles southeast of Elko and 38 miles south of West Wendover. Pilot Gold will increase surface disturbance at their existing Kinsley Exploration Project from the currently authorized 6.67 acres to 70.69 acres within a project boundary of approximately 2,840 acres.

The expanded exploration activities will include access road maintenance, road building including water bars, drill pad and sump construction, exploration drilling, and reclamation. Outside the project boundary, Pilot Gold plans to extract gravel by expanding an existing gravel pit area for road improvement and drilling one to three water wells. The gravel pit expansion will not exceed 10 acres. Much of the proposed disturbance will be within or adjacent to the previous Kinsley Mine disturbance.

The Plan of Operations, Decision Record and Finding of No Significant Impact is available at the BLM Elko District Office and also online here.

For questions or more information about the project, contact Gerry Miller at (775) 753-0372, email gkmiller@blm.gov.
