BLM to Hold Public Workshop Concerning Wild Horses in the Fish Springs Area

Carson City, Nev.--The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City District, Sierra Front Field Office will hold a public workshop on Wednesday, June 26, from 6-8 p.m., at the Carson City District office to gather public input to address wild horses located several miles outside the Pine Nut Herd Management Area (HMA) south of Carson City. The wild horses have migrated about 10 miles outside the HMA to the Fish Springs area and are impacting private property. The workshop will begin with a short presentation, and then will include breakout sessions.

“The purpose of the meeting is to work together on solutions for the wild horses residing outside the HMA at Fish Springs,” said Leon Thomas, Sierra Front Field Manager. “In order to have a well- rounded discussion, we are hoping all interested residents will attend.”

Fish Springs is located about three miles southeast of Gardnerville, Nev.

The BLM Carson City District Office is located at 5665 Morgan Mill Road in Carson City.
