Thursday, July 5 | Palomino Valley Center | 44 wild horses were received at 12:50 p.m. All of the horses unloaded without incident. Horses started to eat and drink water as soon as they were in their pens. One mare and one yearling are being treated for injuries and anticipate they will recover with additional medical treatment and time. On June 29, one young foal that had arrived in poor condition based on malnutrition, was found dead in its pen. Additionally on this day, a mare was euthanized due to being unable to adjust to feed change and maintain body condition. |
