Black Rock–High Rock Emigrant Trails National Conservation Area - Wildlife habitats in Black Rock-High Rock country are very diverse.  Vegetation and animal species vary depending on several key factors of the environment including: elevation, annual precipitation, soil type, and wildfire regimes.  These factors fluctuate greatly depending upon ones location within the NCA.

Wildlife viewing areas include major canyons and streams of the Jackson Mountains, Black Rock Range, and Calico Mountains. High Rock Canyon, Soldier Meadows, and Summit Lake (Mahogany Creek) are some of the best places to see wildlife.
