Winnemucca Fire Station

Unimog engine fighting a wildfireThe Winnemucca Fire Station is located at the Winnemucca BLM Field Office. The station stays operational from April until October or later depending on the severity of the fire season.

Currently the station staffs a variety of six wildland engines (one Tatra Super Heavy Fire Engine, three Type IV Wildland Engines, one Type III Unimog, and one Type VI Wildland Engine), one Type II Water Tender, and one Type II Dozer. Seasonal staffing varies but is generally around 20 – 25 personnel. Station operations are overseen by the station’s Fire Operations Supervisor. There is no housing available at the Winnemucca Station.

In addition to the seasonal staffing and the stations Fire Operations Supervisor, the Winnemucca Station is where the District Fire Management Officer and the Assistant Fire Management Officer can be found.

If you are interested in applying for summer firefighting jobs or would like to know more about the Winnemucca Station you can follow the employment link on the right or contact the Winnemucca Field Office.
