Las Vegas Valley camping closure map Southern Nevada offers a wide variety of camping opportunities on public lands. BLM features one developed campground at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and many primitive (no facilities or water provided) camping opportunities. Within the Las Vegas Valley, camping is not allowed. The boundaries are:
While camping choices are almost limitless, camping stays in the same location are limited to 14 days. Primitive campsites must be located at least 200 feet from roads and water sources such as spring, ponds, creeks or waters provided for wildlife or livestock. Gray water may be dumped at least 200 feet from any water source. Dumping sewage on public land is not legal. Because there are many primitive campfire pits already on the landscape, please use existing pits. Before building a fire, please check local fire restrictions as campfires may be banned during certain times of the year. Due to the area’s hot summer climate, camping is generally recommended from October to March. Popular camping locations include: Knob Hill Primitive Camping Logandale Trails System Primitive Camping Virgin Mountains Primitive Camping Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area – CampgroundThis campground features 71 individual campsites and 7 group sites with a 14 day limit. The campground is on Moenkopi Road just past the BLM Fire Station, two miles east of the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive entrance and 2.5 miles west of I-215 off Highway 159 (Charleston Blvd). Most campsites include a picnic table, fire pit and grill & half the individual sites have shade structures, all the group sites have shade structures. Drinking water and vault toilets are available, no hookups or dump station are available. The campground is open 24 hours, however quiet times are 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Individual sites $15 per night with a limit of 9 people and two vehicles per site; group sites are $40 per night and are available for groups between 10 and 20 people and 8 vehicles per site.
