March 8, 2014 - SNDO BLM “Great American Clean Up” Event
The BLM Desert Clean Up Team is kicking off their Spring 14 clean up schedule with the Great American Clean Up Event, Saturday March 8th at Ash Meadows Wild Life Refuge. The BLM has partnered with the Fish & Wildlife Agency to sponsor a clean-up of the entry roadway to the Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. We will be removing all the windblown litter and trash from the entrance roadway and surrounding area.
This involves walking, bending over and picking up trash. All ages are welcome! Participants under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent, or have a signed volunteer form. Sturdy shoes, a hat and sunblock are recommended. The BLM will provide, water, trash bags, gloves and hand tools. We need a minimum of 10 volunteers to make this event a success.
Registration begins on site at 8:30 a.m., the clean-up will run from 9:00-12:00 p.m.
Driving Directions: Take US 95 North to Lathrop Wells, Go West on 373 and watch for the signs to Ash Meadows.

So get out of the city, get some fresh air and enjoy a spring day while lending a hand to keep this area clean for all to enjoy. And, this will give participants the opportunity to tour the Ash Meadows Refuge. So pack a lunch and make plans!
