History:
This program was developed to meet the needs due to the explosive growth of the Las Vegas Valley School programs. The "EGO" Workshop provides; updated resource information to teachers, provides natural and cultural history information to teachers who are new to the area and imparts a sense of ownership in teachers thereby increasing the protection of the resources.
The Bureau of Land Management, Friends of Red Rock Canyon Environmental Education Committee, Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association and other interested teachers and volunteers contributed their time and expertise to the production of a companion guide to the Mohave Desert Discovery Guide, specifically for Red Rock Canyon NCA. Activities were coded to the Clark Country School District C.E.F. 2005/06.
The Friends of Red Rock Canyon Environmental Education Committee currently sponsors and supports the workshop by providing funds for instructors, supplies and volunteers which assist in presenting and organizing the workshops.
