Terrain: The area is gently sloping desert plateau with elevations ranging from 1,275 - 1,500 feet.

Habitat type: Dense Joshua tree woodland with a bunch grass understory

Special Features:

• The area provides easy access to an outstanding example of a Joshua tree woodland.

• Birds sighted in the area include the gilded flicker, which is only known to occur in Nevada at this location.
