Open Houses Slated for Wilderness Plan

Las Vegas - The Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service will hold open house eetings in three locations to encourage public participation in the development of a management plan for Rainbow Mountain and La Madre Wilderness Areas.


Meetings will be held in the following locations:
• Thursday, May 18, 2006- 6 to 8 p.m.
Boy Scout Camp at Mountain Springs


• Tuesday, May 23, 2006 - 6 to 8 p.m.
Quonset Hut at Blue Diamond.

• Tuesday, May 30, 2006  - 6 to 8 p.m.
Interagency Office, 4701 N. Torrey Pines, Las Vegas


Meetings will begin at 6 p.m. with a short presentation.  Following the presentation, the meeting will follow an open house format, where participants can visit various resource stations and ask questions. 


Subsequent steps for public involvement include review and comment on preliminary proposed action; and review and comment of Environmental Assessment and Draft Management Plan.
