BLM Nevada News Residents Encouraged to Take Advantage of White Pine Green-Up The City of Ely and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely District remind county residents to take advantage of White Pine Green-Up as they clean up around the home this spring. The seven-year-old collaborative program reduces illegal dumping on public lands by allowing residents to discard free-of-charge at the municipal landfill such items as old appliances and automobiles, construction waste, scrap metal and more. Vehicle batteries can be dropped off at either Eldridge Auto Parts or Wheeler Machinery Company. For more information, contact Rick Stork, City of Ely landfill supervisor, at (775) 296-2702, or Melanie Peterson, BLM Ely District environmental protection specialist, at (775) 289-1829. -BLM- |
