BLM Nevada News BLM Caliente Field Office Selling Christmas Tree-Cutting Permits The BLM Caliente Field Office is selling Christmas tree cutting permits for $3 each with a limit of five per purchaser. Pinyon pine and juniper trees may be harvested on BLM-administered public lands in the Caliente area with the exception of wilderness areas. Permits allow only pinyon and juniper trees to be cut; cutting other trees is strictly prohibited. Permits may be purchased in person at the Caliente Field Office, 1400 S. Front Street, or through the mail. Permits will be available through Wed., Dec. 24, or until they are sold out. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office will also be open to the public from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on select Saturdays, Nov. 29, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13. Mail-in applications will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis through Friday, Nov. 21. All mail-in applications must include payment by check or money order. Mail-in applications should be addressed to the BLM Caliente Field Office, Attention: Christmas Tree Permits, PO Box 237, Caliente, NV 89008. Applicants should allow two weeks for processing.
