Ely, Nev. – Participate in a cultural exchange this Sunday, starting at 11 a.m., at the Baker Archaeological Site in Baker, Nevada. Participants will have the opportunity to throw an Atl Atl and there will be demonstrations on Native American flint-knapping, pine nut-harvesting and stone carving methods; and the various uses of plant and animal life. Interpretive presentations and storytelling are scheduled and Native American artifacts will be on display. Visitors also will be able to sample traditional Native American foods such as roast buffalo, Anasazi beans, and Elderberries with pine nuts, mint and honey. The event is sponsored by the non-profit Nevada Native American Cultural Society and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely District Office.
